October, the month against breast cancer.

A month against breast cancer and what a better reason to do what we owe to do to our body and to ourselves. Examinations and prediction.

A month which is full of events, speeches, free examinations and all of us together being present and trying to do our best. October is a small reminder to take care of ourselves and to remember that prediction really saves lives. To have our health as a priority and put aside all the excuses that we occasionally tell to ourselves in order to avoid the doctor’s appointment.

We may be scared of doctors and examinations or we may be afraid of an abnormal mammogram result. However, we should take action immediately because postponement is not a solution. More or less, all of us have heard or experienced a cancer incident in our close circle, so it is ok to be afraid. We ought though to take responsibility of our reaction. We can avoid examinations and be in a state of ignorance; or we can be responsible and put our health above everything.

All we have to do is just to pick up the phone. Now that we are in October and the pink ribbon is everywhere, we call our doctor and we continue with our examinations. At the same time, it is a great opportunity to take part in different events and speeches that are being organized throughout this month, so as not to feel alone. Either as patients, as survivors or just as escorts, we are going through this all together. As long as we talk about breast cancer, as long as we share our concerns, then it is easier to diminish it. We gain knowledge and it is no longer something unknown.

We are wonderful creatures that have come to this planet trying to do our best. Let’s start by doing what is best for us, that is to be healthy, conscious and in harmony with our body. Only then, we can gain the energy we need in order to lighten up our lives and those of others.

Let’s look at October as the month of festivity and prediction.

A month that gives courage and optimism to those who are ill, gives hope to the survivors and knowledge to those who are afraid to do the first step.
Moreover, pink is the color that represents affection and care and exactly these are the things that our self needs.

It would be better to look at every month as a month of prediction because if we don’t take care of ourselves then no one else will. At least in matters of health we should be our priority.

Keep our chin up, have self awareness, listen to our body and be courageous. These are the things that we can do, the rest depend on the doctors and thankfully their knowledge has enhanced and their science has been developed.
